Steps for Planning and Holding Meetings with Results

After the Meeting

  • Follow-up
    • Network with participants after the meeting
    • Debrief the meeting with the leaders (e.g., how did it go, did we accomplish what we wanted to, are there any concerns)
    • Thank you notes, if appropriate
    • Follow through on your assignments (e.g., mail material, call someone)
    • Follow-up with other people's assignments (e.g. reserve a room, draft a document)
    • Put into final form the meeting notes/minutes (e.g., copy of flip charts, decisions made, action items, next meeting)
    • Contact people who missed the meeting so they are up to speed for the next meeting
